ACI — Air Connectivity Index
A proposed monthly measure of Venezuela's scheduled air capacity, network breadth, and carrier competition.
No ACI observation has been published.
The formula is available for shadow research, but no authorised schedule feed currently supplies every required input. ACI is not part of Core VCI, and missing components are never estimated or reweighted.
What it measures
ACI measures supply-side access: how much scheduled service exists, how many places it reaches, and how concentrated that capacity is. Its closest peer concepts are the IATA and OAG connectivity indexes. U.S. BTS and TSA series are useful traffic, fare, and demand references, but they do not measure this exact composite.

Each component is normalized to the average of the first 12 complete months and combined geometrically. A missing component makes the month null.
Source admission
Publication requires one authorised, reproducible schedule feed covering operating carrier, flight, origin, destination, schedule date, and seats. Existing World Bank carrier totals are annual and cannot be relabelled as airport connectivity. The MIA–CCS fare monitor remains a separate Fare Pressure companion, not an ACI component.
